The Buffalo Bills did not retain Nicholas Morrow for very long.

In March, Morrow, 29, agreed to a one-year contract with the organization. Before being dismissed by Buffalo on December 7, he participated in 11 games this season, mostly on special teams. The seasoned linebacker wouldn’t be unemployed for long. The Green Bay Packers had interest in Morrow, but on December 24, he decided to re-sign with the Bills. After Buffalo placed Baylon Spector on the injured list due to a calf ailment, the transaction was made. According to the league’s transaction wire, Morrow’s second tenure with the organization ended on Thursday.

This season, Morrow played 182 special teams snaps in 11 games and recorded 44 defensive snaps for the Bills.

The Bills may be signing a player off their practice squad, but as of this writing, they have not made any announcements on a comparable move. Only two players from Buffalo’s practice squad may be elevated, and the club is likely to use backups for the entirety of their Week 18 matchup against the New England Patriots. Buffalo may utilize his roster space to sign a player who is needed for Sunday’s regular season finale if Morrow is waived.

In Week 17, Buffalo defeated the New York Jets 40–14 to secure the No. 2 seed in the AFC. The Bills are waiting for this weekend’s results to determine who they will host on Super Wild Card Weekend, but they have nothing to lose in their regular season finale. The Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, and Denver Broncos are among possible rivals of Buffalo.
