Unfortunately, a Detroit Lions safety has been detained and taken into police custody; the reason for the arrest has not yet been disclosed.
Brandon Joseph, a safety for the Detroit Lions, was arrested by police on Saturday morning but has since been freed. Although they were unable to elaborate on the circumstances behind Joseph’s arrest, a representative for the Dearborn Heights police department verified the information to Sports Illustrated.
@LionsFan097 first shared the rumor on X (previously Twitter).
Joseph was removed off the Lions’ active roster on Saturday along with his custody. When Sports Illustrated contacted the team for a statement, a representative refused to respond, stating that “Joseph is no longer on the team.”
Second-year safety Joseph had participated in all 14 of the season’s games. Due to secondary injuries, he has occasionally helped on defense even though his primary role was on special teams.
More information on Joseph’s arrest and his future is still unknown as the case progresses.
