ESPN: The former Lions outstanding quarterback, send a strong message to Aaron Rodgers.

When Aaron Rodgers was with the Green Bay Packers and Matthew Stafford was with the Detroit Lions, the two quarterbacks faced off frequently. Stafford is currently a quarterback with the Los Angeles Rams. In an attempt to assist the Rams try to win out the rest of their season, he will now face Rodgers once more on Sunday, December 22, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Both Stafford and Rodgers have been questioned about facing their opponent prior to the game. It’s a clash that may be considered somewhat legendary because they both belong to the same NFL generation.

During a news conference on Thursday, December 19, Stafford spoke extensively about the Jets and their quarterback when asked about facing them.

Stafford said, “I can’t wait to go up there and play.” “It goes without saying that playing important football in December is an amazing experience. We have earned the chance to play games that are important, and we must keep earning it. It so happens that this is the next item on the list.

But what about Rodgers in particular? “I have a lot of respect for Aaron and have competed against him a bunch of times in my career,” Stafford said of the talented quarterback. He performs admirably and is an outstanding player.

Rodgers is “still doing a really good job for them,” he continued. In the past several weeks, he has played brilliantly. He appears to be in good health, moving around and going about his daily business.

In response to further questions about his feelings toward Rodgers, Stafford stated that he has “a ton of respect for him” and that playing him is “always a good battle.”

Stafford continued by saying that Rogers is a “great player in this league, an all-time great, has unbelievable talent, and has accomplished a bunch.” “He’s always up against a challenge.”

Sean McVay, the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, also offered his thoughts on the situation during the same press conference. McVay emphasized the potential excitement of the event and stated that he is looking forward to it.

“There are two outstanding players,” McVay remarked. “Two men who have performed it at an exceptionally high level.”

It seems to be a reciprocal sentiment. During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday, December 17, Rodgers discussed facing Stafford.

Yes, it’s enjoyable. One of my all-time favorite opponents is Matt,” Rodgers remarked. Many enjoyable clashes throughout the years. Much admiration for him. I completely admire the way they play the game.

Thus, it appears that both quarterbacks value each other’s respect.

Regarding Stafford, Rodgers continued, “He’s as tough as they come.” He is astute. He is intelligent. He’s rough. He is a competitive person. I’ve always loved Matt Stafford and can’t wait to meet him.

“It’s good to have one more chance to compete against him if this is it,” Rodgers continued.
