ESPN: Juan Soto finally respond to allegations that he left the Yankees due to poor treatment of his family.
Juan Soto has refuted several rumors that his decision to quit the New York Yankees was influenced by the team’s abuse of his family.
In one of the greatest trades in sports history, Soto traded the Yankees for the New York Mets, agreeing to a 15-year, $765 million contract.
According to reports, Soto reportedly complained to the Yankees about a staff worker removing his chef and a family member from a section of Yankee Stadium.
In a recent interview with Grandes en los Deportes, Soto was asked about those allegations, and the new Mets player responded defiantly.
“That’s a lie,” Soto said, perhaps before characterizing the Yankees as a “1A” team.
He also disclosed that he will not be playing this season despite having sought the Mets for permission to participate in ten games for Tigres del Licey during winter ball, which was granted.
