CBS Sports: Another great star for the Dallas Cowboys is sidelined for the 2024 NFL season.
Despite their best efforts, the Dallas Cowboys were unable to bring their top defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence back on the field in 2024 after suffering a foot injury.
Since training camp, injuries have plagued the Dallas Cowboys defense, keeping All-Pros and players at every position out for prolonged periods of time. One of the guys that went down in Week 4 against the New York Giants was defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence.
Lawrence had a Lisfranc lesion to his right foot.
Despite their best efforts to bring him back on the field, the team has decided it’s time to eliminate him for the rest of the NFL season.
Despite everyone’s best efforts, Bryan Broaddus stated on GBag Nation on 105.3 The Fan Wednesday that the Cowboys will be shutting down the defensive end.
They made every effort to retrieve him. I felt that [he was working hard with Cowboys trainer Britt Brown] on a few occasions while I was walking by the field and seeing him. However, they just were unable to get that (foot) to where it needed to be, and the danger was not worth it for them to continue,” Broadus stated.
Lawrence was in the last year of his current deal when he started the season.
In 2014, the 32-year-old was selected in the second round by the Cowboys from Boise State. With 61.5 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, second-team All-Pro selection in 2017, and four Pro Bowl selections, he has played his whole 11-year career in Dallas.
Regretfully, Lawrence’s time on the sidelines could be the final time Cowboys Nation sees him in Big D.
