Juan Soto signed a huge free-agent contract with the New York Mets to start the MLB offseason in a way that has never been seen before. Boston should be happy that he didn’t rejoin the New York Yankees, even though he didn’t pick the Red Sox.
Yes, David Ortiz does.
In the comment area of Soto’s most recent Instagram post, which featured a highlight video from his first news conference with the Mets at Citi Field last week, the Red Sox icon got to work. With his most recent chirp of the Yankees, Ortiz returned to his mainstay.
Ortiz posted two “crying laughing” emojis along with the caption, “The …… Yankees lose.”
After losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games during the World Series, the Yankees had already heard a lot from Ortiz. Even though the Red Sox lost out on a surprising run to the negotiations, their decision to not re-sign their legendary outfielder undoubtedly offered Ortiz more fodder.
