The Yankees are making an effort to maintain the band.

When it comes to signing Juan Soto this summer, the New York Yankees could have an advantage. According to the New York Post, the Bronx Bombers are predicted to have an advantage because of Soto’s liking of playing with Aaron Judge.

According to the site, Soto is happy to hit before Judge in the batting order. The slugger admires Judge’s leadership in the clubhouse as well. An other benefit is that Judge seems content with earning less than Soto.

Arguably, Soto is the gem of the Major League Baseball free agency market. The Yankees and New York Mets are thought to be Soto’s main suitors, despite the fact that at least six teams have made a strong push for him this summer.

The cost of signing Soto might reach $700 million or more for a team.

Juan Soto could remain in New York…For what team, though?

In an attempt to get Soto to leave the Yankees, the New York Mets have essentially thrown the kitchen sink at him. Steve Cohen, the owner of the Mets, came to California to personally encourage Soto to join the National League. Despite the alleged success of that encounter, Soto has yet to sign a deal with any organization.

The Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox are among the other clubs who have made an effort. Even though the Los Angeles Dodgers made an attempt to challenge Soto, it appears that they are already all but eliminated from the race.

The Yankees have been attempting to re-sign the slugger for a long time. In 2024, Soto helped the Bronx Bombers win the World Series and had a fantastic season overall. During the regular season, Soto batted in 109 runs and blasted 41 home runs. He lost the American League MVP award to Judge, despite being a finalist.

Despite not being thirty yet, the slugger has already made appearances for three Major League Baseball teams. In addition to winning a World Series with the Washington Nationals, he played in New York for the 2024 season. Soto and the Padres also stayed in San Diego for a while. He has already hit over 200 home runs in his career.

The team’s decision to re-sign the slugger is highly desired by Yankees supporters. In 2024, the Bronx Bombers were a lot more exciting with Judge and Soto in tandem. New York may have lost the World Series because Judge’s bat cooled off throughout the postseason. The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the club in five games.

The Juan Soto sweepstakes winner will be revealed in due time.
