CBS Sports: Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun are hardly the only eagles enjoying rising stock.

Sometimes we are so excited that we lose control. We are permitted to do so as fans and members of the media. We strive to think like an NFL player. Although we coach ourselves using the “one game at a time” method, the Philadelphia Eagles are responsible for it, not us.

We may analyze losses and celebrate victories for as long as we want since we make a profession talking about football. Even if we set a cap on things, it won’t be necessary since we won’t be playing a game the following week. Occasionally, our inner fan takes over the discourse.

You have no idea, though, how many times we’ve played back Saquon Barkley’s best moments. We’re boasting about Zack Baun to everyone we can if we’re not doing that.

They have a booming stock. Barkley is a frontrunner for MVP. Howie Roseman may have to reconsider his beliefs on linebacker compensation since Baun has been so excellent. However, we didn’t anticipate that the Eagles would pay a running back at this point in the previous season.

With the NFL season’s home stretch approaching, these six Eagles have skyrocketed in value.
We could go on and on about Zack Baun and Saquon Barkley until we’re exhausted, but we won’t. Here, we’ll share the love.

For a little while, two guys we talk about as much as possible take a backseat to guys we don’t talk about enough.

As we’re thinking along these lines, we’ll also take a break from hammering their drums to show other Eagles how great Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean have been. Additionally, their stock is increasing. If it weren’t for these people, the Birds might not have won eight straight games since the bye.

Mailata, Jordan, left tackle
Jordan Mailata has been one of the best left tackles in the league anytime he has been on the field, despite missing four games this season due to injury. He is credited with 524 offensive snaps played by Pro Football Focus. He has given up one sack and committed three penalties.

Jordan’s chances of reaching the Pro Bowl team have increased since Jason Kelce, one of Philadelphia’s icons, is now retired. Usually, he is overshadowed by the players that play around him.

We would also want to give Fred Johnson a chance. He was frequently left on an island and filled in for Mailata when he wasn’t there. The seasoned but inexperienced backup performed as well as you might expect for the most part.

Jalen Carter, defensive linemen in the interior

Jalen Carter’s worth cannot be determined only by statistics. On Sunday, keep an eye on this guy. Despite being double-teamed all the time, he still ruins almost everything. On 406 pass rush snaps, he has already exceeded 43 pressures.

He has played 619 snaps, or almost 83% of the defense’s total, and is a nightmare for opposition offenses. That answers all of the questions regarding his endurance and motor skills, doesn’t it?

Once more, Carter has to be evaluated on more than just tackles and sacks. Of the former, he has 34. That surpasses his rookie total, and with five games left in the season, he has recorded 4.5 sacks after recording six in 2023.
