ESPN: Eight-year-old cancer Survivor Narrowly Escape Death During the 49ers vs. Bills Game
It has been reported that during Sunday night’s Buffalo Bills vs. San Francisco 49ers game, an eight-year-old cancer survivor was shoved down the stairs. To support her favorite team, the 49ers, Mia DeCamilla went to the game at Highmark Stadium with her mother, father, and older brother. “I beat cancer!” was the sign she carried when she arrived at the game. “My very first NFL game!” Mia’s mother shared their section number to assist identify the rowdy Bills fan who shoved her “down the stairs” in a social media post.
“Unfortunately, we departed sooner than anticipated. Mikey Sherry Decamilla said on Facebook, “Yes, the Niners are losing, but regrettably we had to deal with the police because a drunk Bills fan thought it was cool to push our 8-year-old daughter Warrior Mia DeCamilla (down the stairs, in section 312) and pass my husband and me.” “Please unfollow our family right away if you are a Bills Mafia fan of this kind! Additionally, I hope your victory was well worth the obscenities of others who believed it was okay to shove a child who was standing in the cold with her cancer-free placard.
Following the game, Mia’s father spoke with WKBW about the supporters that were seated behind them. “These people have been supporting us since the beginning. I’m not sure whether it was the same man. They intentionally threw snowballs toward Niner supporters, but I didn’t pay heed. ‘We’re going to be pounding Niner supporters in the head all game,’ they even shouted aloud,” he claimed. Then he disclosed the event in which Mia was shoved.
“Anyway, I’m going to slug these Niner fanatics. As he approaches, he just begins to charge ahead and shove others aside. He passed me by sort of trying to bump into me. The father said, “It was Mia, and he shoved her when he passed me.”
When asked if she would like to return, Mia shook her head “no” as her father said that the Bills were working on bringing the family back for a game. She remained cheerful in spite of the situation. “I am feeling great,” she stated. “…I hope that the Bills realize that there’s an issue and you need to have security and make it more a family atmosphere and family event rather than a party house.”
