Josh Allen, the standout quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, is starting to emerge as the NFL MVP favorite. Buffalo’s ultimate objective, meanwhile, is still to win a Super Bowl, a feat the team has failed to do in recent years and for many decades. Nevertheless, Allen has received the attention he is due for his exceptional performances this season, and Monday was filled with plaudits for his record-breaking effort against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

Jim Kelly, a Buffalo Bills veteran and member of the NFL Hall of Fame, sent an emotional statement congratulating Allen on his accomplishment, pointing out that he had surpassed one of Kelly’s long-held records and recognizing the success Allen has brought to Buffalo this season and throughout his career.

Since Josh Allen was selected by Buffalo in the 2018 NFL Draft, he and Jim Kelly appear to have a strong relationship. Despite leading the Bills to several Super Bowls, Kelly never took home a championship during his Hall of Fame career. Allen made history in a number of ways following Sunday’s 35-10 victory for the Bills. He became the first player in NFL history to record a passing, running, and receiving touchdown in the same game, in addition to breaking Kelly’s longstanding mark of 244 total touchdowns.

Although Allen has been among the best in the league for a number of seasons, the Bills as a whole appear to be playing better than ever this season. After defeating Kansas City in a head-to-head match two weeks earlier, they are tied for first place in the AFC with the Chiefs and possess the tiebreaker. Of Allen’s 245 career touchdowns, 187 have been scored through the air. He has scored 26 touchdowns this season as the Bills are on the rise and their chances of winning the Super Bowl are increasing in Buffalo.
