CBS Sports: The Raiders are officially eliminated
In actuality, the Las Vegas Raiders’ performance against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday exceeded most predictions. Unfortunately, Kansas City still won, so that wasn’t enough. The Raiders’ most recent defeat puts them out of the running for the playoffs, so that victory ultimately validates what we’ve all been seeing for a while.
Given their current 2-10 record, it should come as no surprise that the Raiders have been declared out. Given that the Raiders are now on an eight-game losing streak, it has been something that has been anticipated. The Raiders are currently in a scenario where they haven’t won a game in two months, which makes it nearly difficult to still have a chance at the playoffs. But from now on, the season isn’t meaningless. It has been entertaining to watch Brock Bowers, and as the season progresses, it will be intriguing to see how his prospects of winning Offensive Rookie of the Year change.
Additionally, there are a few guys that could develop further this season. K’Lavon Chaisson, an edge rusher, played a fantastic game on Friday. WR Tre Tucker and RB Sincere McCormick also did. The Raiders may use those three as future building stones since they are young guys on the roster who appear to be beginning to figure things out. However, aside from that, everyone’s attention is now on the 2025 NFL Draft. As of this writing, the Raiders are expected to have a top-two pick. They will have a great opportunity to choose their future quarterback and, ideally, turn the team around.
