ESPN: Amazing demand for Juan Soto’s contract is shown in the report.
According to one report, Juan Soto has a lot to ask of clubs interested in signing him, but he doesn’t seem to be close to making a free agency choice.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Soto is reportedly seeking a 15-year deal. Soto would enter his age 40 season under such a contract, which would probably contain some opt-outs.
On a very high average yearly value, Soto is thought to be uninterested in a short-term arrangement. Although possible opt-outs in a lengthier agreement would offer comparable options, such a structure would probably allow him to maximize prospective revenues.
The New York Yankees are among the teams looking to raise their first offer, Heyman continues, adding that the bidding for Soto has probably moved on to a second round. Five clubs are understood to be most seriously engaged, and at least some teams are reportedly prepared to spend more than $600 million to get the outstanding outfield player.
Soto, who recently turned 26, is the free agency market’s prize. He has a genuine opportunity to surpass Shohei Ohtani as the most expensive free agent in history, and he is statistically headed for the Hall of Fame.
