MLB Rumors: Juan Soto Isn't 'a Fantasy' for Blue Jays, Will Sign for 'Right' Contract | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report

Fans of the New York Mets believe they have proof that Juan Soto wants to play in Queens. This seems like a stretch, even to us.

As is to be expected, the New York Mets are one of the top teams to acquire Juan Soto. One might argue that the Mets were using house money to make it to the NLCS last season, and they had the most money to waste.

This winter, with soto as their main course, was something that New York always looked forward to. Like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cohen made the front office sustainable by hiring David Stearns to manage his baseball operations. But that doesn’t mean he won’t show off his wealth when it’s absolutely required. That will ultimately be required with Soto.

Soto is looking for a deal worth more than $600 million. The Yankees and Mets are the main suitors, so he will probably receive that and more. Scott Boras has always understood this, but he can raise the price by meeting with competing clubs, particularly the Yankees and Mets’ competitors.

The most recent Juan Soto link is sought after by New York Mets supporters.
According to what Mets supporters have heard from Soto’s first meetings, the Yankees are getting ready for the inevitable. Brian Cashman and company may be using this as a tactic to arrange a contingency plan, but why even consider it if they were certain that Soto would stay? The Mets pose a significant risk.

In the Soto hunt, though, the same Mets supporters are grabbing on of whatever clue they can find. This includes Soto being followed on Instagram by Steve Cohen’s wife. It should be mentioned that Soto hasn’t responded yet.

Although social media rarely tells the truth, these reports usually include a player, in this example Soto, who is following a team, an executive, or other players on that club. The opposite is true here.

It’s possible that Soto will sign with the Mets. According to reports, he would want somewhere a little calmer, although he loved performing in New York. The Mets front management can offer Soto as much money as he desires, and Queens supplies that.

But because Steve Cohen’s wife liked him on Instagram, they won’t sign Soto. I promise you that.
