CBS Sports: Lions star player was reprimanded for taunting the penalty during the TD run against the Colts.
Gibbs seemed to make fun of Samuel Womack III, the cornerback for the Colts.
Although Jahmyr Gibbs is having a fantastic day, he was asked to tone it down by an official.
The running back for the Detroit Lions was called for unsportsmanlike behavior, most likely for taunting a Colts defender, after he scored his game-winning touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts. It looked like a poor call on replay.
The Lions decided to run Gibbs off the right side when they were confronted with a third-and-goal situation from the Colts’ 5-yard line. He cut through the line, reached the edge, and sailed into the end zone after dribbling past two defenders. He turned toward Colts defender Samuel Womack III as he crossed the goal line from the other side. He was flagged right away.
Although he could have spoken to Womack, this does not appear to warrant a 15-yard penalty.
Gibbs has 57 yards and two touchdowns on 14 runs as the Lions lead the Colts 21-6 at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
