Bills WR Curtis Samuel rightfully placed on B/R list heading into Week 4

Since joining the Buffalo Bills from the Washington Commanders, receiver Curtis Samuel has struggled with injuries and a lack of form, but it looks like he’s finally adjusting to life in the AFC East. Josh Allen has other weapons to pass the ball to in Joe Brady’s offense with Samuel, so it’s not just about one person. Rather, the Bills have a 9-2 record thanks to the “everybody eats” philosophy. With a season-high five receptions for 58 yards and his first score as a Bill, Samuel, like his offensive comrades before him, finally had his chance in the sun during the 31–20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady was also gushing about his receiver. “Up to this point, not exactly what Curtis was expecting, but he’s been battling a lot of injuries,” Brady stated. “It was good to see him moving about and showing off his personality over the past two weeks. He made a lot of plays out there, and I think you can see his confidence, speed, and racing [run after catch] ability. We will need him in order to keep improving and bring our offensive to where we want it to be in the future.”

Samuel has been used infrequently since coming to Buffalo, and six times this season, he has recorded two or less catches. However, it was Curtis’ moment to feast, and he did just that against the Chiefs.

It’s not realistic to expect Samuel to accomplish that every week given what we’ve seen of the Bills offense this season. His performance does, however, give Allen the confidence to put his trust in his receiver when things become difficult. Yes, it was the first time this season that Samuel took over a game to some extent, and going forward, Allen and Brady will undoubtedly keep that in mind.

After ten games, Samuel has finally taken off as a Bill.
