Free agency in Major League Baseball has started slowly. After Juan Soto choose his next squad, one would think the market will begin to move. The potential actions of the New York Yankees in the event that the outfielder does not return to the Bronx have been discussed extensively. What if he does, though? Soto and Aaron Judge would remain in the starting lineup if he were retained. However, general manager Brian Cashman needs to fill a number of gaps on the pitching and infield staff.

Luke Weaver, a relief pitcher, became a reliable late-game reliever for New York. In 84 innings pitched, he was 7-3 with a 2.89 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 103 strikeouts. He needs assistance because he’s been twice Clay Holmes, an All-Star, is a free agent and is not expected to sign a new contract. Miller moved to the Bronx thanks to a spectacular three-player trade arranged by Zach Pressnell of FanSided: Mason Miller, a right-handed pitcher, is acquired by the Yankees. Right-handed pitcher Will Warren and outfielder Jasson Dominguez are acquired by the Athletics.
