ESPN: Controversy Hits Raiders Camp Following a Contentious Statement from….
The way the Las Vegas Raiders handled the Brock Bowers case was contentious.
The team lost to the Miami Dolphins 34-19 on Sunday, and Bowers had a monster day. For 126 yards and a touchdown, he has 13 catches. The rookie celebrated his touchdown late in the third quarter by performing the Donald Trump dance.
Bowers was questioned about his post-game celebration. Safid Deen of USA Today reported that Bowers claimed he was merely following a playful fad.
“Everyone has done it, in my opinion. Jon Jones did that in the UFC bout I saw last night. Bowers stated, through Deen, “I saw it because I enjoy watching UFC and thought it was cool.”
Bowers cited Jones’ performance of the dance following his victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 on Saturday night.
Deen claims that following the question, the Raiders ended the interview. The question was also reportedly left out of a transcript of the Dolphins’ postgame interviews that they made public. What frightened the Raiders?
