CBS Sports: Bills Sensational QB, Sends Sean McDermott a Strong Message Following the Chiefs’ Victory.

Bills' Josh Allen is trending to be the greatest dual-threat QB in NFL history

Sean McDermott, the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, has previously trusted his defense to make clutch stops in the closing minutes of games.

He trusted the offense against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, and Josh Allen, the quarterback, made sure the choice was successful.

Instead of attempting a field goal that would have increased the lead to five points with little over two minutes left in the fourth quarter, McDermott decided to go for it on 4th-and-2 deep in Chiefs territory. The Bills won 30–21 when Allen ripped through the Kansas City defense for a 26-yard touchdown run.

Allen thanked McDermott in a message following the game.

Allen remarked, “I was grateful to Coach for having faith in us.”

After the game, Allen expressed his concerns to reporters about kicking the field goal and handing the ball back to the Chiefs so they could drive for victory. He pointed out that the Chiefs had just had a touchdown drive on their last possession and that quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a flair for scoring in similar circumstances.

Josh Allen has more total yards than almost every NFL team this year

Allen stated, “I like their odds in that situation anytime you give the ball back to Pat (Mahomes), that offense, down six with the game on the line.” “I want to try to make it a two-score game by scoring six or seven points.”

After the late touchdown put the Bills ahead by nine points, the defense stepped up and stopped a Mahomes ball on the final possession to seal the victory.

Allen added 55 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground after completing 27 of 40 passes for 262 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back James Cook scored two touchdowns, but the Chiefs defense kept the Bills’ running game mostly in check.

After the season’s first loss, Patrick Mahomes speaks up
With the victory, the Bills improved to 9-2 and dealt the Chiefs their first defeat of the year. Buffalo’s victory gave them a chance to secure the No. 1 seed this season, even if the Chiefs are still a half-game ahead of the Bills at 9-1.

“There is no shame in losing to such a good team,” Mahomes stated after the game.

“That football team is excellent. “There’s nothing to worry about if you lose to them,” Mahomes stated. “We believe we can perform better. In order to become a better football squad in the end, we will return to work and attempt to use this as motivation.

Adding that a Super Bowl three-peat is the only objective that counts, Mahomes said he wasn’t concerned about them missing their shot at a perfect season.

It was cool because it was unbeaten. However, that isn’t our ultimate objective. Therefore, we’ll continue to work toward it,” Mahomes stated.

The Bills are four and a half games ahead of the Miami Dolphins and have a good chance of winning the AFC East in the upcoming weeks. With a 9-2 record going into their bye week, they have the greatest 11-game record since the 1992 season, which culminated in a Super Bowl trip.
