CBS Sports: Favorite 49ers’ best players are doubtful to play against the Seahawks.
The 49ers won’t know if these three standout players will play against the Seahawks for another day or two.
As the San Francisco 49ers prepare to play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11, some minor worries have surfaced.
To play against the Seahawks, three of the 49ers’ best players are labeled as questionable. These standout players include George Kittle (hamstring), Nick Bosa (hip), and Trent Williams (ankle). Williams has missed all three of this week’s practices, which is typically a sign that a player won’t participate in the game.
The 49ers will, however, give him a shot up until game time if necessary because it’s Williams. It will be intriguing to observe his level of fitness. If he is unable to participate, Williams could still be preferable than Jaylon Moore as a backup.
Of the three, Williams is the most worrisome star player. The next one is Nick Bosa, although there isn’t much cause for alarm. He skipped two workouts this week and closed with a short session on Friday. As he did against Tampa Bay last week, Bosa is probably going to play through his hip issue against Seattle.
Finally, it appears that Kittle is the least of the concerns. As they should, the 49ers were treating him with great care. Kittle needs to be taken care of because he has been the 49ers’ finest offensive player this season. He participated in restricted practice for the next two days after missing just one.
Kittle and Bosa will therefore probably be active against the Seahawks. Williams is basically a decision made at the moment of play. Given that the 49ers will travel for two games following Week 11, it might be prudent to hold him out. Their games against the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers are difficult.
In recent years, the 49ers have controlled Seattle. You would imagine that Williams wouldn’t be needed for this one. However, it wouldn’t be shocking if Wiilliams perseveres. He will go if he can, even if it’s only seventy-five percent. He is the kind of player that he is.
The remaining dubious players are Yetur Gross-Matos (knee), Jon Feliciano (knee), and Aaron Banks (thigh). Gross-Matos will be activated by the 49ers from Injured Reserve.
The following players have been ruled out: Charvarius Ward (personal), Mitch Wishnowsky (back), and Kevin Givens (groin). On Saturday, Wishnowsky will probably be placed on Injured Reserve.
