CBS Sports: Miami Dolphins close In To Sign Dallas Cowboys’ QB In A Blockbuster Trade Deal.
After dropping to a 2-3 record through their opening five games of the 2024 season, the Miami Dolphins have been living the horror of a season. Their brilliant quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, is really doubtful of playing football again after suffering another horrific concussion earlier in the year. With all of these problems, the team may attempt to rekindle their season before the trade deadline, and one potentially available quarterback might be the key.
Dallas quarterback could sign with the Miami Dolphins
Before the trade deadline, according to CBS Sports, the Dolphins will acquire Dallas Cowboys quarterback Trey Lance. Considering the uncertainty surrounding Tagovailoa’s comeback, adding Lance might be the best course of action for Miami going forward, particularly given that head coach Mike McDaniel was a member of the San Francisco 49ers when Lance was drafted.
The Miami Dolphins should trade for quarterback Trey Lance, according to CBS Sports.
“Tua Tagovailoa might come back, but putting your faith in him to remain upright and/or safe seems reckless. When the 49ers selected the explosive but raw Lance late in the draft, Mike McDaniel was a member of the team.” Photo: https://twitter.com/UZI2jRpzuM (@CBSSports) #GoFins

Trey Lance Career
Since being selected, Lance has had difficulties in the NFL and hasn’t shown that he can be a reliable starter. But since he and McDaniel were so familiar with one another, we could witness the young quarterback develop into the player the 49ers desired. Lance may benefit from McDaniel’s ability to bring out the best in his dynamic players by playing to their strengths.
In his brief career, the young quarterback has completed 797 passes for 797 yards and five touchdowns. He did have a brief moment of brilliance during the Cowboys’ preseason this year, but he faltered in the end. Lance, who was one of his draft class’s more exciting prospects, hasn’t performed well thus far. But given their experience with McDaniel, the Dolphins might be the solution he seeks.
