CBS Sports: Giants sign a veteran punter in a blockbuster deal as a replacement for Jamie Gillan.

Colts punter Matt Haack turns in impressive debut amid chaotic week

Prior to their Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Giants are adding veteran punter Matt Haack to their roster as insurance, according to a report from ESPN on Saturday.

Due to a left hamstring injury, punter Jamie Gillan is listed as questionable for the Giants (2-3) over the Bengals (1-4).

Haack, 30, worked out for the Giants on Friday along with a few other punters.

 

Haack played with the Miami Dolphins for his first four seasons of the 2017–20 season. He then played for one season each with the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts. In 2023, he made one appearance with the Cleveland Browns.

In 99 games, he averaged 44.5 yards on 432 punt returns.
