CBS Sports: Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones gives injury updates on two key players.

Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence says he'll be fine after early exit vs. Giants

Thanks to two solid defensive outings, the Dallas Cowboys have won two straight games, lifting the team back above.500 at 3-2, but regrettably, they had injuries that cost them the services of top defenders Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence.

Recently, Jerry Jones gave an update on two more important players who have been recovering from personal injuries.

An excerpt from Jones’ interview on 105.3 The Fan was shared by ESPN’s Todd Archer. He mentioned DaRon Bland’s foot injury, saying, “These days are so significant today and tomorrow as to how much time Bland will be on the field Sunday,” and Zack Martin’s back injury, saying, “I don’t see that to be a factor on his availability Sunday.”

Although Martin has been a key member of this team for many years, he missed practice this week primarily because of management. On Sunday, he should return to his regular position.

Bland was put on injured reserve with a foot injury earlier in the week, so he hasn’t played yet this season. However, he has allegedly looked excellent thus far and might be ready for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. Bland has a 21-day practice window.

It’s evident that the defense has missed Bland’s presence after five weeks of play. Bland participated in all 34 games during his first two seasons in the league and created history by returning five of his league-high nine interceptions for touchdowns last season.

Dallas must continue to find ways to win, as it has lately, until it can get some of these important players back into the fold in time for the final stretch.
