Following surgery to treat a Jones fracture to his foot, defensive tackle Christian Wilkins of the Las Vegas Raiders will be sidelined indefinitely and placed on injured reserve, according to an NFL Network report on Tuesday.

After agreeing to a four-year, $110 million contract with $84.75 million guaranteed, Wilkins, who is in his debut season with the Raiders (2-3), was hurt during Sunday’s 34-18 loss to the Denver Broncos, who were the visitors.

Wilkins, 28, has started all five games and has 17 tackles, including two sacks.

Wilkins was chosen 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins in the 2019 NFL Draft. He has 355 tackles, 43 tackles for loss, 20.5 sacks, 50 quarterback hits, one interception, four forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries in 82 of his 86 games as a starter for Miami.

Wilkins, who established a career high with nine sacks in 2023, became a free agency when the Dolphins declined to utilize their franchise tag on him.
