CBS Sports: Former Philadelphia Eagles Favorite Player Herm Edwards Reveals The Reason Behind Current Team Struggle.
Which team are the Philadelphia Eagles?
Herm Edwards, a longtime NFL head coach and former Eagles player, is attempting to respond to that following the team’s 2-2 start to the season.
Both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox, two club icons, retired in the offseason, so the Eagles are trying to go on without them. And that shift is proving to be a little trickier for them than they had anticipated.
“Phoenix is currently experiencing severe weather.” Since last year, it has been stormy, Edwards stated while making an appearance on the Carlin vs. Joe Show. This team has performed very similar to how it did at the end of the last campaign. I’m still not repaired.
“I think there’s a leadership void with this football team. During the offseason, I discussed it and stated that the loss of Kelce and, of course, Fletcher Cox will be the biggest challenge for this club and organization. They relieved Jalen Hurts of a great deal of his load because they were the veterans in this room.
“He just needed to play quarterback.” Because he was in the room with these two guys, one on defense and one on offensive. And the men in the room were them.To be honest, they’re basically an infraction without a name these days.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts may not feel at ease in a leadership role, according to Edwards.
Hurts has completed 68.2 percent of his throws for 930 yards and four touchdowns through four games, which is a career-high percentage. However, he also recorded a league-high five fumbles and four interceptions.
Two of the top veteran leaders in the game were regarded as Kelce and Cox. So it’s hardly shocking that the Eagles are having trouble finding their replacements. However, no one could have predicted they would have this much of an effect on a club that only two seasons earlier made it to the Super Bowl.
