NFL News: The New York Giants Will Embrace Greg Joseph
According to his agent Brett Tessler, kicker Greg Joseph is being signed by the New York Giants to the active roster off the Detroit Lions practice squad.
This summer, Joseph was a member of the Packers, where he faced competition from Anders Carlson for the starting kicker position. Despite Joseph’s 3-of-4 field goal performance in the preseason, the Packers nevertheless chose to cut Carlson and Joseph. After Brayden Narveson was claimed off waivers, he started the first two weeks of the season.
After Graham Gano suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2 and is now anticipated to miss a few weeks, the Giants were on the market for a kicker.
Joseph has played for the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans, and Minnesota Vikings throughout his five-year career. He’s made 100 out of 121 field goal attempts and 146 out of 162 (90.1%) extra point tries. Additionally, Joseph’s touchback rate is 71%.
Despite not being able to sign with the Packers, Joseph managed to get employment for the 2024 season.
