CBS Sport: Las Vegas Raiders’ Gardner Minshew, Sends a Strong Message To His Critics After Victory Against Ravens.
In Week 2, the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore, pulling off a huge shock. In the last minute of play, the Raiders took a three-point lead and defeated the Ravens 26–23 thanks to a field goal.
After Las Vegas’ surprising victory, Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew had a message for Raiders skeptics.
“Last week was ugly, and the first half was ugly,” Minshew remarked. We’re going to keep improving, we’re going to find a way, and we’ll find a way… Whatever others may doubt, we firmly believe it. We are not going to stop improving. The appropriate individuals are here to help us out. As long as we have that, everything will work out.” With less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Gardner Minshew connected with Davante Adams for a touchdown, tying the score at 23–23.
Minshew assisted in leading a 23-yard drive to get Las Vegas into field goal range after the defense forced a punt. Daniel Carlson then made a 38-yard field goal to give the Raiders a lead they would not let up. Minshew completed 30 of his 38 throw attempts for 276 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception by the end of the game. As they prepare to play the Carolina Panthers in Week 3, the Raiders stand at 1-1 on the young season.
