Ahkello Witherspoon, a former cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has inked a one-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams. In 2023, Witherspoon joined the Rams for a one-year contract and participated in all 17 of their games. Now since the club has sustained numerous injuries, he is back.
Witherspoon should fit right in as the Rams’ outside cornerback after recording three interceptions in his rookie campaign. Between 2021 and 2022, he was a player for the Pittsburgh Steelers for two seasons.
After he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, the team acquired him; nonetheless, he was not the best match for Pete Carroll’s scheme. Witherspoon was given time by Pittsburgh to catch up, but as soon as he started playing, he got hot. Witherspoon recorded three consecutive interceptions.
Witherspoon only appeared in four games the following season due to a persistent hamstring issue that forced him to use injured reserve twice. with the season, he was cut with just one interception. After being selected in the 2017 draft by the San Francisco 49ers from Colorado, he played his first four seasons in San Francisco.
