Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson to undergo MRI on left knee after early exit vs. Browns

A standout pass catcher for the Dallas Cowboys had to exit the game on Sunday afternoon as the Cowboys were crushing the Cleveland Browns. The wound seemed to be quite painful.

Following owner Jerry Jones’ approval of a new contract agreement with quarterback Dak Prescott, the Cowboys entered Sunday’s game with the intention of demonstrating their potential as a postseason contender. CeeDee Lamb, a wide receiver, and Prescott were not extended by the Cowboys until after training camp.

Jones has shown confidence in the Cowboys’ ability to contend this season by agreeing to postpone the extensions until after the team has had opportunity to use the cap room created by the new agreements to sign free agents in the summer.

The Cowboys outperformed the Browns defense, which is regarded as one of the best in the league, going up 30-10 in the fourth quarter in Cleveland.

Sadly for the Cowboys, standout tight end Jake Ferguson hurt himself badly on the field and had to leave.

According to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team, Ferguson had a knee injury. He disappeared inside the changing area to get help.

Ferguson, a 2022 fourth-round selection by the Cowboys, had an incredible 2023 campaign. Last season, he caught 71 catches for 761 yards and five touchdowns, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl.

Against the Browns, Ferguson hauled in three catches for fifteen yards.

If Ferguson needs to miss time to heal from the injury, the Cowboys still have potential at pass catcher. They will rely on CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks.

Luke Schoonmaker and youngster Brevyn Spann-Ford, two healthy tight ends, are listed on the 53-man roster of the Cowboys.
