Whit Merrifield, a second baseman for the Atlanta Braves, left the game on Friday night after hitting a ball with his left foot in the seventh inning. His CT scan is on the way after his X-rays revealed nothing.

Merrifield missed his previous two starts because of a pitch to the head, so this Friday was his first game back. The Braves are dealt another blow by the injury, which should lead to the best-case scenario.
