Breaking news: Raiders Close in to Sign a Mega Deal With the Jaguars Favorite QB.
In the event that things don’t get better, Mac Jones, the backup quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, might be a possible target for the Las Vegas Raiders. Jones was the No. 15 overall pick in 2021 by the New England Patriots. He never really settled in with the Patriots, and this offseason, he was traded to Jacksonville in exchange for a sixth-round selection.
Jones was mentioned as a possible suitor by the Las Vegas Raiders on Bleacher Report’s “Trade Block Big Board” lately. “The Las Vegas Raiders could consider adding Jones if the Gardner Minshew II experiment doesn’t work and the team doesn’t love the long-term prospects of Aidan O’Connell,” B/R’s Kristopher Knox said. Another team mentioned as a potential suitor for Jones is the New York Giants.
Throughout his career, Jones has shown promise, most notably in 2021 as a rookie. After throwing for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions, he was selected as a substitute for the Pro Bowl. But Jones’s situation rapidly deteriorated. Despite being benched numerous times, he finished with 2,120 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in his final season with New England. Jones is presently ranked second among quarterbacks, behind Trevor Lawrence. When the season started, though, Jacksonville might find it difficult to turn down a team that is desperate for a quarterback if they made the appropriate offer.
