ESPN has learned that veteran cornerback Adoree’ Jackson has re-signed with the New York Giants for a one-year contract. The 28-year-old Jackson has spent the last three seasons as a player with the Giants and has a relationship with Shane Bowen, the team’s new defensive coordinator, from their days together with the Tennessee Titans.

Even though Jackson has been with the Giants for a while, his effectiveness has suffered due to injuries and patchy tackling, which has raised rumors that the organization may let him go.

The Giants made a calculated decision to address their cornerback needs by re-signing him just nine days before their season opener against the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants were previously exploring Nick McCloud or Cor’Dale Flott as alternatives to second-year starter Deonte Banks at cornerback.
