Breaking news: Raiders Favorite CB Faces NFL Sanction Following a Critical Drug Test Which…
The five in the morning SMS regarding a drug test didn’t sit well with Jones.
Jack Jones, a cornerback for the Las Vegas Raiders, was not happy to get a few texts early on Thursday morning from the NFL regarding a drug test.
Jones described a text he received from an NFL representative regarding a drug test that had to be completed in three hours in a now-deleted X post. At precisely 5 a.m., the SMS arrived. An hour later, Jones sent a follow-up text, to which he appeared genuinely perplexed.
The first expressed the following:
Greetings for the morning. This is Ryan from the NFL. You have been chosen by the NFL to take an in-season PES (blood and urine) test, which must to be finished as soon as possible at the team’s facilities.
Your exam has to be finished by 8 AM today in accordance with NFL regulation, since the league has assigned each player a strict three-hour schedule to do it.
This is a text message for Mr. Jones. Please respond or like it so I know you understand what’s expected of you today.
Jones did not respond, therefore at 6:01 a.m., the following SMS was received:
Mr. Jones, did you get my texts? Just a gentle reminder that, per NFL procedure, your testing must be finished by 8 AM today. Please come visit me as soon as you can to finish your PES tests. Regards, sir.
Jones then gave the following response in return:
Man, you texted me this morning. I should have received a notification earlier.
In response, the NFL official said:
Athletes have a rigorous 3-hour time constraint to complete any tasks, and the NFL has instituted a new rule that requires me to start notifications at 5 AM on test day for days when team meetings start at 7:30 AM.
The text then ended.
The tweet that Jones removed now said, “??????? @NFL.”
It’s a secure supposition. Jones took it down after realizing he shouldn’t be tweeting texts from NFL drug test representatives.
After missing curfew at the team hotel, Jones was dismissed by the New England Patriots and signed with the Raiders in November 2023. During his seven Raiders games, he racked up 25 tackles, two interceptions, and four passes defensed. This season, he is expected to start in the secondary for Las Vegas.
