Lewis Cine signs with Jets, could face Vikings in return to scene of horrific injury

On Wednesday, the New York Jets added a noteworthy player to their defense.

A day after being waived by the Minnesota Vikings, third-year safety Lewis Cine reportedly agreed to a contract with the Jets.

When the Vikings selected Cine in the first round of the 2022 selection, they had great expectations for him, but things did not work out for him in Minnesota. Cine played in seven games the previous season and only had one tackle assist, following his three games as a rookie in which he did not earn any stats.

Cine was a standout player at Georgia and led the Bulldogs to a national title in 2021. That year, he was named to the First Team All-SEC.

Cine was candid about his expectation to be selected by a different team prior to the Vikings’ 2022 draft. He now has a new opportunity with the Jets.

Sauce Gardner of the Jets makes fun of a teammate for looking like Madden 25.

Sometimes, despite the advances in AI and graphics, video games fall short of achieving a realistic feel.

This is particularly the case for running back Breece Hall of the New York Jets, who was recently made fun of by teammate Sauce Gardner for how little his “Madden 25” resemblance resembled his real appearance.

The good news for Hall is that EA Sports usually updates “Madden” frequently during the season. Additionally, since Gardner alerted the company to Hall’s predicament, there’s a strong chance that the upcoming update will make Hall’s avatar more realistic.

Hall, the Jets’ indisputable top running back, is anticipated to make significant progress in his growth after finishing the previous season with 994 yards and five touchdowns.

Hall was ranked No. 2 among running backs in ESPN’s offseason position rankings, which rank players at each position by league executives, coaches, and scouts. Hall has been selected early in Round 1 of most fantasy drafts.

Many league executives believe that Hall is the top running back under 25 years old, based on the ESPN rankings. Bijan Robinson of Atlanta, Jahmyr Gibbs of Detroit, Kenneth Walker III of Seattle, James Cook of Buffalo, and Kyren Williams of Los Angeles are among the other running backs in this group.

Many think Hall can have an All-Pro-caliber season in 2024 with Aaron Rodgers replacing Zach Wilson as the primary quarterback and the Jets probably not playing from behind as much after he finished just outside the top 10 in rushing yards (13th) and carries (223, 14th).
