The fourth and final game of the 2024 WNBA season between Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun is scheduled for Wednesday night.

After the Olympic break, the Fever were among the better teams in the league, going 3-1 against every team that was in the running for the playoffs.

But for the next game, Indiana might be missing one of their starters. Forward Katie Lous Samuelson has been added to the Fever’s injury list for personal reasons, according IndyStar Sports writer Chloe Peterson.

Many people won’t be surprised by this, as Samuelson withdrew from the Fever vs. Dream game on Monday after just six minutes of play due to illness.

Samuelson has been a vital member of a Fever squad that hopes to make the playoffs. This season, the former star player for the UConn Huskies has started precisely half of Indiana’s games.

Her average is 1.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.8 points. Guard Lexie Hull, who just set a career high with 22 points, may start in Samuelson’s place if she is declared out of Wednesday’s game for the Fever.

Moving forward Temi Fagbenle is an additional candidate to take Samuelson’s seat. The Fever have a 14-16 season record going into their matchup against the Sun. They have the seventh seed in the WNBA playoffs and are ranked third in the Eastern Conference.
