Cowboys DT Neville Gallimore To Miss Time

Following roster cuts, the New York Giants should prioritize adding additional defensive tackle depth. One player that Big Blue may be able to take off waivers is former Dallas Cowboys starter Neville Gallimore.

That’s a prediction from Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com, who sees Gallimore as a Giants waiver claim. “Just for fun, I’m going to predict the waiver claim positions: CB, S, OLB, and DL,” stated Stapleton. Moreover, Tyre Phillips, an offensive lineman, will likely be signed by the Giants. Alright, I’ll go with Vikings S Lewis Cine, Dolphins DT Neville Gallimore, Eagles CB Eli Ricks, and one of the Titans OLBs (Caleb Murphy or Rashad Weaver).

Gallimore is the most intriguing of all the names mentioned. Not least of all because he only signed a free agent contract with the Miami Dolphins in 2024.

The former star of the Canadian Football League has four years of starting experience with the Cowboys, with fourteen starts. Gallimore is a good match for the Giants’ three-man front schemes since he can play end or tackle.

The Giants, who cut their first ten players from the roster, including defensive tackle Kyler Baugh, have good reason to watch available defensive linemen. According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, backup nose tackle Timmy Horne tore his Achilles against the New York Jets during the preseason, further undermining the already questionable depth up front.

Gallimore is a clear addition to give depth because he has taken shots both inside and on the edge. Gallimore may have a role for the Dolphins, but with Zach Sieler and Da’Shawn Hand already in the fold and Miami having signed six-time Pro Bowler Calais Campbell, Gallimore’s starting opportunities will be limited.

According to Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post, the athlete taken in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft will be one of those who “don’t make the cut.” Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN made this prediction.
