ESPN: Bucks Mega Star Lists The Top Five NBA Players Right Now.
It’s okay if you disagree that this is the greatest NBA era ever.
Some say it’s softer and easier to score, while others think we’re seeing basketball at its best.
Whichever side you support, one thing seems certain: The league has never had so many outstanding players.
Because of this, ranking the top players in the game today is never simple because everything is so fluid and subject to sudden changes.
But Damian Lillard accepted the challenge.
He just made a non-ranking list of the top five players in the game on the Club 520 Podcast (via ClutchPoints).
Damian Lillard lists his current top five NBA players that he loves 👀.
⭐️ Anthony Edwards
⭐️ Ja Morant
⭐️ Luka Doncic
⭐️ Nikola Jokic
⭐️ Giannis Antetokounmpo
It’s hardly surprising that Anthony Edwards made the list; he’s the most exciting young talent in American basketball right now, and with his improved defensive skills, he may be the best player on the planet in a year or two.
It may come as a surprise that he selected Ja Morant, a player whose speed and athleticism electrify the court despite his injury and suspension that limited his playing time the previous season.
Next, Lillard selected Luka Doncic, who is currently the most complete offensive player in the game and, with improved fitness, could easily be the greatest in the league.
Then, he selected Nikola Jokic, who for the previous four or so years has been regarded by most as the finest player in the league.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, he selected his own colleague Giannis Antetokouonmpo, who has recently suffered from injuries but is arguably the finest two-way player in the game when Kawhi Leonard is not playing.
