Breaking: Commanders Favorite Starter Signed a Blockbuster Deal With The Eagles.
Wide receiver Jahan Dotson, a previous first-round selection, was traded by the Washington Commanders to the Philadelphia Eagles. In exchange for Dotson and Washington’s fifth-round selection, the Eagles are giving the Commanders two seventh-round selections and a third-round selection.
Prior to today’s trade, Jahan Dotson was not enjoying his offseason in Washington. Olamide Zaccheaus, a free agent signing, has apparently been receiving more press attention than Dyami Brown, who has supposedly been outperforming him. Dotson was anticipated to make the squad, but the only chance he would be on a different team’s roster for Week 1 was probably through a trade.
In the 2022 NFL Draft, Jahan Dotson was selected with the 16th overall pick. With the New Orleans Saints, who selected wide receiver Chris Olave, Washington traded down from No. 11 overall. To drop five spots, the Commanders added a third- and fourth-round selection. From that trade down, they ended up with Brian Robinson, Sam Howell, and Cole Turner; they are currently in the midst of another trading cycle with Philadelphia.
