Quinton Jefferson: News, Stats, Bio & More - NBC Sports

The New York Jets are aware that proving to the league that they are a Super Bowl contender in 2023 wasn’t much of a goal. Even though the Jets had a 7–10 record at the end of the previous campaign, everything changes when Aaron Rodgers is healthy.

In an attempt to win at least one more Super Bowl before retiring, Rodgers signed with the Jets. One observer believes that if the franchise agrees to a few transactions, particularly involving a former Jet, those fantasies might come true.

A former player might be acquired by the New York Jets in a trade that would “help them win the Super Bowl.”

One deal that Devavrat Kulkarni of NFL Analysis pointed out as potentially helping the Jets advance to Super Bowl LIX was the acquisition of Quinton Jefferson.

Quinton Jefferson could return to the Jets.

In 2023, Quinton Jefferson was a member of the Jets and had a respectable season. Even better, he finished with six sacks, the most in his career. He signed a new one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns for the 2024 season after his previous one-year deal expired. But Cleveland has fierce competition, so Jefferson might have a smaller role with the Browns going forward.

Jefferson might opt for a return to the Jets if things don’t work out in Cleveland. His talents are still needed by New York to strengthen their inner defense. Given that Jefferson would bolster one of the best defensive lines in the game, a reunion for both sides may make sense.

Six sacks, 34 tackles, four tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery were among Jefferson’s 14 game totals for the Jets in 2023. Not only that, but he started each of the 14 games.

The Seahawks selected Jefferson in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. His first four seasons were played in Seattle. Before joining the Seahawks again in 2022, he played for the Bills in 2020 and 2021 and the Raiders in 2021.In his NFL career, he has participated in 103 games with 62 starts, accumulated 26.5 sacks, 192 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 77 quarterback hits.
