After hurting his left elbow on a slide into home plate during the Yankees’ 12-2 loss to the White Sox on Monday night at Guaranteed Rate Field, Jazz Chisholm Jr. is slated to have an MRI on Tuesday.

In the fifth inning, Anthony Volpe’s infield single allowed Chisholm to score from second base. Chisholm rotated his left arm and shoulder in the dugout between innings, according to television replays. Manager Aaron Boone reported that the X-rays came back clear.

“It doesn’t really worry me,” Chisholm remarked. We completed every test, and every test we’ve completed here has been largely positive. Although it’s still a little sore, I can still feel it a little bit, but I think we’ll be okay.

After his position in the batting order came up in the seventh inning, Ben Rice, a pinch hitter, replaced Chisholm, who had stayed in the game to play third base defense.

Chisholm explained, “I didn’t feel it right away because my adrenaline was still going.” “After sitting there for an inning, I began to feel it a little bit.”
