Report: Rangers game postponed by the Yankees as they prepare for another doubleheader
This week, the Yankees lost a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels; however, bad weather on Wednesday compelled the two clubs to play a doubleheader. Things aren’t getting any better in New York, though, as the Yankees rescheduled their doubleheader for Saturday afternoon, weather permitting, after postponing their game against the Texas Rangers on Friday.
Carlos Rodon will be the starting pitcher for the Yankees. Saturday afternoon
Carlos Rodon will take the mound for the Yankees against Cody Bradford at 1:05 PM. With just 25 innings pitched thus far this season, Bradford has a 3.96 ERA, 19 hits, and 24 strikeouts.
On the other hand, Rodon looks to build on strong starts as he has a 4.37 ERA across 125.2 innings. On August 3, Rodon allowed three runs against the Toronto Blue Jays, although in the three games prior, he had allowed a maximum of two runs.
If Rodon wants to be a major player for the Yankees in the postseason, he needs to become better and play at his best. The Yankees’ pitching has just placed them in tough situations and made them come back from early deficits, even though their offense has been strong recently.
With an extremely light schedule in August, the Yankees must take advantage of their opponents’ weaknesses in order to gain an early lead in the American League East. They currently share first position with the Baltimore Orioles, who have also been having trouble lately.
