Breaking: Former Broncos draft pick signed a blockbuster deal with the Browns.
With the pieces on both sides of the ball to contend in the AFC, the Cleveland Browns will be a dangerous team to watch in the upcoming 2024 NFL season.
The Browns will be counting on improved health and consistency to lead them back to the postseason after losing in the NFL Playoffs of 2024.
After suffering a shoulder injury last season, Deshaun Watson should be fully recovered, and Nick Chubb could be able to return somewhere in the middle of the season.
Cleveland’s formidable front seven, anchored by Myles Garrett, should make them one of the league’s top defensive teams once more.
In addition to the pass rush, the secondary appears more improved on paper, while there is still opportunity for development.
Through the team’s official Twitter account, the Browns hired former Denver Broncos safety Faion Hicks to help bolster some of their secondary depth.
The Browns declared, “We’ve made other roster moves and signed S Faion Hicks.”
Hicks was waived after making two appearances in his first season after being originally selected by Denver in the seventh round.
Hicks was a member of the New Orleans Saints practice squad in the 2023 NFL season. He is currently in Cleveland and has the opportunity to contend for a roster position.
A mid-camp addition such as Hicks usually means that the player will be considered for the practice squad, and that appears to be the most likely path for the Wisconsin product.
Nevertheless, it’s a low-risk acquisition that the Browns could benefit from in the future.
