Justus Terry, Manchester, Defensive Line

After meeting Terry in Marietta, Georgia, on Monday, the most recent information regarding the hiring of the five-star talent

Justus Terry is not in a hurry to decide where he wants to play collegiate football. Prospects rarely decide to commit to a school in December, or on Early Signing Day, in this era of recruiting. It’s considerably less typical for a five-star player.

However, it’s time to take a step back for the nation’s top defensive tackle, who has already made commitments to USC and UGA throughout his recruitment.

Five-star Justus Terry explains why he flipped from Georgia to USC

The 6-foot-5, 275-pound player has Alabama, Georgia, and Florida State “coming hard” at him.

Terry was interviewed by Bama247 on Monday at the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic Luncheon in Marietta, Georgia, to find out more about the ongoing interest in the Crimson Tide.

Mmm? Coaches Poll Respondent Kalen DeBoer Is Aware of Alabama’s Rivals

With a hefty 2024 Coaches Poll load on SEC clubs, Alabama faces a difficult path.

First off, the preseason Coaches Poll was revealed on Monday; don’t bother looking for Alabama’s usual roster of a couple of cupcake non-conference opponents. Coach Kalen DeBoer of Alabama participated in the poll, in which Alabama came in at number five, perhaps a position or two lower than could have been anticipated.

It may have put a lot of strain on the football information director during his first year in that role; I’m not sure how DeBoer voted or even whether he did it himself. Nevertheless, the poll fairly represents Alabama’s college football opponents in 2024.

With an astounding 46 votes for first place, it was not surprising that Georgia was named #1. The fact that Ohio State finished second is also not surprising, yet Alabama is unaffected by it.

Georgia is one of them.

On September 28, Alabama will play the Bulldogs in what many consider to be a pivotal game that will determine who will play in the SEC Championship Game and possibly even the College Football Playoff spots. Even while the past doesn’t always matter in the present, Alabama has an all-time record of 43-26-4 against Georgia, including a 5-1 record against UGA since Kirby Smart left the Crimson Tide to take the head coaching position at his alma school.

Four more teams that are ranked among the top 16 of the 25 teams in the Coaches Poll will meet the Crimson Tide. They are as follows:

No. 11 Missouri, No. 12 LSU in Baton Rouge, October 26 No. 15 Tennessee in Knoxville on November 9. No. 16 Oklahoma in Norman on October 19. November 23
The teams that garnered enough votes to be included in the top 25 are also included in the poll. Three more are on the Bama calendar among those. They are as follows:

On November 30, Auburn would have been ranked 32nd; on September 14, South Carolina would have been ranked 39th; and on October 12, Wisconsin would have been ranked 34th in Madison.
Despite valid concerns regarding the presence of teams like Western Kentucky, South Florida, and Mercer on the Alabama football schedule, the overall competition is quite strong, with seven of the Tide’s eight SEC opponents being ranked or earning votes.

No, not you, Vanderbilt, but Alabama and its supporters do appreciate the odd trip to Music City, and they’ll be in Nashville on October 5 for that game.
