Jason Kelce Looked Pretty Comfortable During His 'Monday Night Countdown' Debut

Jason Kelce, a former center for the Eagles, ruled the trenches for more than ten years. He now has the opportunity to support the front office team.

Former center for the Eagles Gets A New Chance With The Team.
For more than ten years, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce was a formidable player. He participated in 193 games throughout the course of his 13-year career, was selected to seven Pro Bowls, was named a six-time All-Pro, and helped lead the franchise to its first-ever Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl LII.

Kelce made the decision to hang up his cleats after an incredible career following the 2023 campaign. That does not imply, though, that his contributions to the squad are over. Numerous reports indicate that Kelce appears to have been presented with a novel and thrilling opportunity by the birds.

A Fresh Opportunity To Lead
According to CBS Sports, General Manager Howie Roseman would be happy to have Kelce work in his front office if that was what he wanted. Roseman believes Kelce would be good “at anything in football,” according to the report.

“He can evaluate players, so I’ve tried to get him to come work for me. He’d be a heck of an evaluator.” He scouted Cam Jurgens, the player the Eagles selected in the 2022 draft, who would replace him, as one of the clearest instances of this. I gave him a couple centers that we really liked during that draft, and he declared, “I love Cam Jurgens.” According to Bleacher Report, Roseman remarked. Kelce has expressed his admiration for Jurgens’ performance in the role in public.

Roseman isn’t the only person who could hire Kelce. Additionally, according to Bleacher Report, Head Coach Nick Sirianni would give Kelce a look at joining his coaching staff.

On this football club, Jason Kelce is free to do whatever he wants, according to Sirianni. “I cherish him.” I shall miss him terribly. The positive things I have to say about how much he meant to me as a coach are endless.

Kelce might possibly be a good match for this role. According to the CBS Sports story, Kelce has continued to regularly visit the team’s practice facility even after he retired. Lane Johnson, an offensive tackle, stated that he could “most definitely” envision Kelce having some sort of role with the squad.

What’s the time frame for Kelce’s decision?
On the coaching front, though, Kelce could have to make a decision sooner rather than later if he hopes to land a job. In this instance, Sportsnaut pointed out that Sirianni is under a lot of pressure this season. Sirianni was largely to blame for the downfall of the second part of last year. It might be Sirianni’s last season with the Eagles if they don’t at least go far in the postseason in 2024.

Due to his relationship with the squad, Kelce may not receive as much preference if Sirianni were to leave and a more impartial head coach were hired. However, Roseman is probably not going anywhere anytime soon, so as long as he is on the team, there will probably be a front office role available.

Kelce will continue to be a well-known figure in NFL media in the interim. In addition to joining the Monday Night Countdown cast on ESPN this coming season, he will carry on his New Heights podcast with brother Travis Kelce.
