Breaking: former Alabama Crimson Tide standout player has been selected as the head coach of a prestigious football team.
Paul W. Bryant announced on Friday morning that Christion Jones, a former wide receiver and tight end for the Alabama Crimson Tide, will take over as head coach of the football team.
Prior to joining the Crimson Tide and playing for Nick Saban from 2011 to 2014, Jones attended Minor High School.
In addition to being named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year and First-team All-SEC in 2013, he assisted the Tide in winning back-to-back BCS national titles in 2012 and 2013. Jones caught 85 passes for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns while attending Tuscaloosa. During his time with the Tide, he also scored scores on three punt returns and two kickoff returns.
Before playing in the Canadian Football League from 2016 to 2019, Jones was a member of the Miami Dolphins in 2015 and 2016.
