The four-star cornerback reevaluated his options and took a step back in his recruitment process, similar to many others. McDonald thought that Alabama was home, but there were just too many unknowns at the time, thus the victory for the Tide was almost lost. After a few months, it is simple to attribute the 6-foot-1, 190-pound player’s rapid comfort level in the DeBoer era to the apparently smooth transfer from Saban’s staff to Kalen DeBoer’s team.
