Breaking: Yankees’ $3.9 million starting pitcher maybe put on trade market.
In the trade market, the New York Yankees have already made a significant impact. Jazz Chisholm Jr. was acquired by the organization on July 27 from the Miami Marlins. The Yankees might not be done trading before the trade deadline of July 30. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Yankees have “definitely” put Nestor Cortes’ name out there.
There are those who are aware of Nestor Cortes. won’t be taken aback if he moves. Although Heyman stated on X, “I haven’t confirmed Tommy Edman is a target for Cortes, NYY does like him.”
On July 23, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic made the prediction that the Yankees would move Cortes in an effort to acquire a left fielder or starting infielder before the July 30 deadline.
The Yankees’ Season with Cortes
Cortes believes the Yankees can accomplish their goals regardless of the criticism directed at them during a bad run of play. Cortes took to X on July 16 to express his thoughts and express his appreciation for being a Yankee.
“Everyone wants to be us, yet they talk down on the Yankees. Pinstripes are a luxury to wear. We are in contention each year. I’m fortunate to be able to fight for a postseason berth and to always be a contender at the very end,” Cortes posted on X.
