ESPN: UNC Basketball favorite to land four-star 7-Footer in a blockbuster deal.
In less than three weeks following an offer, UNC basketball has moved up to the top 11 according to Eric Reibe.
In late June, UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis challenged center Eric Reibe of The Bullis School (Md.). He informed On3’s Joe Tipton that as of Thursday afternoon, the Tar Heels are one of the 11 contestants still vying for the 7-foot, 235-pound four-star.
Reibe began the season ranked No. 111 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, but he has since soared to No. 40 and is challenging for five-star status. Three other elite prospects remain on his short list: Kentucky, Kansas, and UConn, the defending national champion. The remaining finalists for the emerging post prospect are Creighton, Harvard, Indiana, West Virginia, Oregon, Stanford, and Ohio State.
Reibe, a stretch big man and southpaw from Germany with a smooth outside shot, told On3 that things are going well with UNC. “I know their coaches have been here observing me, and I am in communication with all of them. They wish to keep fostering their relationship with my family and me.
“They like my skill, that I can play inside out, but they also told me that I fit in with how they play defense.”
On its 2025 wishlist, the UNC basketball team has both 7-footers among the final contenders. Malachi Moreno, a four-star center from Great Crossing High School (Ky.), is the other. He announced a top eight in late June and booked an official visit with the Tar Heels for the second weekend of September.
