Eyes Recognize Verbal Commitment Even at a Distance Ace Mac Clark

U.S. Open qualifier Mac Clark of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has verbally committed to the University of Tennessee for the 2025–2026 season and beyond.

As a member of the Vols Class of 2029, he will live in Knoxville with Mike McCarthy and Jake McCoy.

In reference to his pledge, he stated:

“I’m excited to declare that I have verbally committed to staying on at the University of Tennessee to pursue my academic and athletic careers. I want to express my gratitude to my teammates, friends, coaches, and family for supporting me during this journey. I also want to express my gratitude to all of the Tennessee coaches for giving me the chance to play for the Vols. Looking forward to visiting Rocky Top! Go, Vols!

At the ISCA International Senior Cup in March, Clark—who swims club swimming with Team Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics—won the 400-, 800-, and 1500-meter freestyles as well as the 400-meter individual medley. After competing in three events at the Toyota U.S. Open, he finished eleventh in the mile at Juniors East last winter.

In addition, Clark has other Allegheny Mountain LSC records. One of these is the boys’ 15–16 1000-yard free, which, until he broke it in 2023, was the LSC’s oldest short course yards record by more than ten years.

At the 2024 Pennsylvania 3A State Championship, Clark, a rising senior at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, finished third in the 500 free and seventh in the 200 free. In his sophomore season, he placed sixth and fifteenth in those races, respectively.
