ESPN: Caitlin Clark set another WNBA history again in a single game.
The Indiana Fever fell short against the Dallas Wings in the contest, and the rookie sensation concluded with 24 points.
On Wednesday night, Caitlin Clark, a talented rookie, broke WNBA records with a string of behind-the-backs and bounce passes.
With 19 assists in the game, Clark, 22, surpassed Courtney Vandersloot’s previous league record of 18 in a single game, which was achieved in 2020.
The basketball player finished with 24 points in the Dallas Wings’ 101-93 defeat.
“I simply aim to facilitate the success of my teammates,” Clark remarked during a press conference following the game. “I think I can almost over-pass at times, and there probably could have been a few times when I could have shot the ball instead of passing and making a turnover.”
“But especially with AB, I’m just looking to set her up so much, my eyes are always on a post player whether that’s AB or whoever’s in the game at the time,” she continued, speaking of the forward who frequently receives her passes.

The Iowa product’s most recent achievement raises more questions about her chances of taking home the Rookie of the Year award. According to ESPN’s Rebecca Lobo, Clark has assisted or scored on 41.8%, or 849, of the Fever’s points this season going into the contest.
Even while the phenomenon still commits a lot of turnovers—she had six in the game on Wednesday night—her overall skill has amazed fans in just her first season in the league.
Clark will now travel to Phoenix for this weekend’s WNBA All-Star Game, where she will represent Team WNBA against Team USA in the pre-Olympic games on Saturday, July 20.
The 12-player roster, which also includes Boston, Nneka Ogwumike, DeWanna Bonner, and Kelsey Mitchell, has added Angel Reese in addition to Clark.
Clark is aware that this will be the first time the former rivals from college will play together, but she has previously stated she doesn’t want that to be the main focus.
“Even at USA Basketball, I don’t think I’ve ever been her teammate before. “I hope it doesn’t take away from everyone else, but I know people will be really excited about it,” Clark remarked, as reported by ESPN. “This is a tremendous victory for all members of Team WNBA and Team USA. They all merit the same recognition. It wouldn’t be fair to them if it took precedence over all of that and became the main attraction during All-Star weekend.”
