Breaking: Browns and kicker finally reach a three-year, $15.9 million contract extension.
Numerous reports on Monday state that kicker Dustin Hopkins and the Cleveland Browns have reached an agreement on a three-year, $15.9 million deal. Hopkins is signed to a contract with the Browns through 2027 as a result of the agreement. With a $5.3 million average, Hopkins and Houston Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn will be tied for fifth place among kickers.
Hopkins signed a three-year contract in 2022, and his base pay in 2024 will be $2.875 in the last season of that agreement. For the Browns last season, Hopkins, 33, made 33 of 36 field goals attempts for a career-high 91.7 percentage. His final score was 123. All eight of Hopkins’ field goal attempts from 50 yards or more were successful. Hopkins was acquired by Cleveland from the Los Angeles Chargers just before the 2023 season began in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round pick.
Hopkins has made 223 of 260 field goals (85.8 percent) and 245 of 260 extra points (94.2 percent) in nine NFL seasons. In 124 career games with Cleveland, Los Angeles (2021–22), and Washington (2015–21), Hopkins has scored 914 points.
